About the Role You'll own the full lifecycle of our fiber overbuild and in-unit retrofit projects across multi-family properties - from OSP backbone design and permitting through last-mile cabling and equipment turn-up. This is a hands-on field leadership role focused on hitting schedules, holding budgets, and delivering quality work. You'll directly supervise internal install crews and manage subcontractor performance across multiple concurrent sites and regions. What You'll Do OSP Overbuild & Fiber Distribution
Lead buried OSP fiber overbuild projects, including make-ready and conduit work to property boundaries.
Oversee route surveys, permitting (municipal, utility, private ROW), pole attachments, and 811 coordination.
Manage placement of splice points, distribution nodes, and hand-holes/vaults per network design.
Ensure NESC, local code, and utility compliance across all OSP work.
Direct in-unit structured cabling installs (Cat6/6A and/or fiber-to-the-unit) in occupied and unoccupied buildings.
Manage retrofit methods: surface raceway, in-wall fishing, plenum pathways, and riser penetrations - per NEC and local fire code.
Oversee deployment of ONTs, switches, APs, and MDU head-end equipment.
Team & Subcontractor Leadership
Onboard, schedule, and supervise field crews of 2-10+ technicians across multiple sites.
Source, qualify, and manage subcontractors; enforce standards through field audits and scorecards.
Run safety briefings and toolbox talks; champion a zero-incident culture.
Resolve field escalations and scheduling conflicts in real time.
Budget, Schedule & Resources
Manage construction budgets across labor, subcontract, materials, and equipment.
Track weekly costs vs. budget; flag variances early and drive corrective action.
Build and maintain detailed Gantt/CPM schedules across OSP and in-building work.
Manage procurement, staging, inventory, and equipment logistics.
Quality, Reporting & Compliance
Set and enforce QA standards: OTDR fiber testing, Fluke cable certification, and service turn-up.
Maintain as-builts, redlines, splice records, test results, permitting closeouts, and lien waivers.
Deliver weekly status reports, forecasts, and KPI dashboards to leadership.
Ensure OSHA compliance; lead root-cause analysis on any recordable events.
What You Bring Required Experience

5+ years managing in-unit/in-building structured cabling in multi-family or commercial settings.
Proven track record leading crews and subcontractors across multiple active sites.
Hands-on budget management - actuals vs. forecast, POs, and labor cost control.
Experience with MDU fiber models (FTTB, FTTU, P2P, or PON).
Technical Knowledge
OSP construction methods: direct bury, conduit/innerduct, splice closures, terminals.
Fiber testing (OTDR, insertion loss, OPM) and TIA-568 cable certification.
Make-ready, NESC clearances, and attachment processes.
